Innovation remains a key for growth and survival for QMansion.
In order to keep our buyers excited about QM, we look at fashion and interior design trends quite closely. It is almost like predicting the future when we pick up designs and patterns for production or commission artists to produce new designs.
For example, there was a time when Safari patterns were quite hot in 2002-03 time period. Then came the time that nobody wanted to look at the Safari/Wildlife patterns for a long time. And Now they are coming back.
I do not think anybody has a crystal ball; However, there are several companies who act like the thought leaders in the fashion industry. Some of them are the renowned women fashion designers. They unleash a design which can catapult into major product innovations across many industries. Home Decor being only one of many of those. Although, Home Decor industry is not as fast and accurate as it should be when it comes to developing cool new products, it tries its best to keep up. Chinese have made most innovative accessory houses run for their money. In addition, discounters like Kirklands, Home Goods, TJMaxx, Marshalls, Steinmart, Bed, Bath and Beyond, The Bombay Company, Pier One Imports etc put tremendous pressure on their suppliers making it almost impossible for innovation to grow. These stores do OK when times are good but suffer horribly during tough times as is the case now. Bombay company is gone. Pier One has not done very well. Kirklands stock has tanked.
The point is, these stores do not encourage innovation and differentiation. Because they can not. They are so focused on achieving the bottom dollar, innovation becomes quite secondary to them. Only a company like QMansion can deliver constant and true innovation.
Is it important to have this innovation? The question comes back to - Is it important for us to be individuals? Is it important for us to have uniques ways to express ourselves? If the answer to the above questions is yes then QMansion exists and grows.
Most of our products at QMansion are accessories. Hence we have developed a great many shapes our the years. Some of those shapes are shown on the left.
This bowl can be made in porcelain or tole. Once we find a suitable design, this shape can be incorporated in a collection of accessories or free standing.
